Welcoming Henrik Uldalen For Nuart Aberdeen

Henrik Uldalen descends on the Granite City as Nuart Aberdeen’s second ‘artist in residence’ for its Summer 2021 series, following KMG’s playful character work making waves in Aberdeen last week.

Born in South Korea and raised in Norway, Uldalen’s works have been exhibited extensively throughout the USA and Europe, drawing attention to a body of work that the artist thinks of less as a narrative and more a running ‘emotional diary’.

Dark, longing and fragile beauty combine in a uniquely haunting style, creating hyperreal figurative portraiture skewed by surrealist manipulations.

Uldalen is the second artist to make his mark in Aberdeen this year in collaboration with Nuart, who have created a programme of street art across the city’s walls that allows ambition and experimentation while adapting to the current demands of event safety.
